  • Most commonly referred to as Orange Book, our company began in 1956 when Tom and Carol Griffin, owners and publishers of the Ramona Sentinel, were asked by the Ramona Chamber of Commerce to create a community directory for Ramona. The Griffins agreed to do so and, over the course of the next several decades, worked with the Borrego Springs, Julian and Valley Center chambers to create directories for those communities, as well.
  • The Griffin family infused Orange Book with a strong sense of integrity and commitment, producing products that were designed to meet the needs of the small businesses they served. And, in 2006 when the family decided to relocate to the Pacific Northwest, it was very important to them to find a new owner who would honor the legacy they had built. I was a “likely suspect” for their transition. With decades of publishing experience and a genuine respect for the relationship the Griffins had created with both their business and residential clients, I joined the family for almost a year before taking the reins to continue the business they had built while making the changes needed to continue to deliver on their promise of meeting the needs of the businesses we serve. So, some things have changed and some things have remained very much the same. How we deliver the information businesses need to communicate to their buyers has changed to include online and digital platforms, but the information they need to deliver is timeless. Likewise, while a new set of faces are serving a growing Orange Book family of communities that now includes Poway and Alpine, we are invested in maintaining the integrity and commitment the Griffins established as their standard decades ago.
