San Diego’s longest continually operational casino, Sycuan, will mark its 35th year in business this year.
Once known as the Sycuan Bingo Palace, the property opened its doors in 1983 as a 20,000 square foot gaming facility founded by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation – a group that has inhabited the current San Diego and Imperial Counties longer than the pyramids have been in Egypt. It was not until the year 2000 when voters showed support for Indian gaming and approved Proposition 1A that the casino was able to open the current 305,000 square foot building.
Today, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, along with Sycuan Casino, have dedicated themselves to being both a leader in the local gaming market as well as a philanthropic leader. Sycuan is committed to giving back to the community that made it successful, supporting hundreds of local charities and community partners each year.
The casino includes world-class gaming options, top-notch dining and premier live entertainment. Home to 2000 slots, table games, poker, bingo and more, the casino is truly San Diego’s best gaming destination.
